Exhibiting at the Edward Hopper House Art Center

The Edward Hopper House Art Center selects exhibits through the Gallery Selection Committee. This volunteer committee is an eclectic group of professional artists and/or curators. Many factors are involved in the selection process, so please keep this in mind as you send in CDs for review.

Exhibits are scheduled approximately 14 months to two years in advance. There are approximately seven shows per year, including the following annual or biennial exhibits:

You are welcome to submit work to be considered for the above shows, if the guidelines allow. We require exhibiting artists to be members of Hopper House.

In order to review your art for the remaining two or three annual slots, submissions must be received by October 1, 2010 to be considered for the 2012 calendar year. Please send the following:

  1. Ten images on CD. Please incude your name on the CD and identify each image with the title, medium, and dimensions.
  2. Resume/bio and artist statement
  3. Self addressed stamped envelop for the return of your CD.  If you do not send a return envelop, we will not be responsible for the CD after review.

Exhibitions are usually scheduled for two or three artists at one time and all media is considered.  We encourage group submissions and curator proposals as well.  Work will only be considered for the calendar year next being scheduled.  We may ask you to resubmit or hold on to your work for consideration in the following year.  Responses will be sent to artists by October 31.

Thank you for your interest in exhibiting at the Edward Hopper House Art Center. We look forward to reviewing your material.
